In order to fulfill the aforementioned commitment, FEBA Sports Department has established the concept of ‘FEBA Sports Clubs’. The idea behind the FEBA Sports Clubs is to provide Balkan American communities the safe environments for their kids. Thus, the FEBA Sports Clubs will build up a platform for many other opportunities that are granted by the sports. Primarily focusing on two sports disciplines the soccer and the basketball, FEBA Sports Clubs will organize several other sports activities, including the other sports disciplines as well. Currently, the weekly soccer and basketball sessions, provided by FEBA Sports Clubs help out the kids to develop many skills that can be learned only with the active engagement in sports. Skills and experiences that young Balkan Americans learns when participating in FEBA Sports Clubs activities are: participation, teamwork, and positive outlet, forum for expression, awareness and respect for body, resilience, communication, social interaction, interpersonal skills, and tolerance and conflict resolution skills. The importance of developing these skills is huge. Hence, the same skills are required for the youth to cope with the challenges they are exposed to, and also the ones they will be exposed to in the future. Further, The FEBA Sports Clubs are a hub for the participants to the international sports camps that FEBA Sports organizes both in the U.S., and abroad. The international sports camps provide an opportunity for kids to learn about other communities, and cultures. When participating in International Sports Camps abroad, youth has a chance to enjoy the summer days in activities that bring tons of excitement, fun, new experiences, and what is most valuable new friendships.
In order to maximize the physical and psychological development of the kid, the good quality of the coaches is necessary. The same coaches are being in a position of the role model for the kids, the person they are having respect for their authorities. It’s important to tell that FEBA Sports Coaches will be undergrad, grad or students that completed their education. In this way, FEBA is motivating young Balkan Americans to pursue higher education. The coaches are required to have certificates that prove their competency in sports coaching, and working with kids.
